ShipWorks’ Scan-To-Ship Boosts Security

September 26, 2024

AUSTIN, TX – ShipWorks recently introduced an update that boosts security and compliance for businesses. The new Scan-to-Ship restricted user type in ShipWorks version 12 allows administrators to create accounts with limited access for Scan-to-Ship (S2S) tasks. Now, only authorized staff can view and manage sensitive data for multiple orders, improving data protection. “The new S2S restricted user type greatly improves security,” writes Brett Berger via ShipWorks news. “This feature ensures that only essential personnel can access sensitive data. Unauthorized users cannot view or export this information. By restricting access, businesses can better secure their operations and maintain accuracy, especially with strict shipping requirements.”

GenAI Gateway Platform Is Powered By AWS

LONDON – BT Group’s Digital Unit has launched an internal platform to help the company tap into the power of large language models (LLMs) from providers such as Anthropic, Meta, Claude, Cohere, and Amazon. The GenAI Gateway, built in collaboration with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and using Amazon BedrockAmazon SageMaker and AWS Professional Services capabilities, provides secure, private access to a range of natural-language processing and LLMs, a critical tool BT Group will use as it embeds AI into the way it runs the business.

“LLM performance also needs to be monitored, for unexpected errors (hallucinations) and model decay over time (where LLMs stop behaving as expected),” write Amazon officials via press release. “The GenAI Gateway also gives BT Group protection against ‘lock-in’ to any given LLM if other issues emerge. The use of GenAI Gateway platform will encourage BT Group engineers to use the right model for the right use case, at the right price, as it supports per-use case budget tracking.”
